Losing His Religion

William Lobdell is a journalist, father and husband. When he was 28 he accepted Christ as his savior during what he described as a “born again mystical experience”. He later prayed for a job at the Los Angeles Times as the newspaper’s religion reporter. He got it, and in a way, he got more than he bargained for.

In this podcast, William explains how he lost his faith covering religion. His book detailing his experience comes out in February and you can read excerpts on his blog www.williamlobdell.com

This might be an odd interview to show to your congregation but there may be a segment of the interview that could fit into our “Greatest Stories Never Told” weekly countdown video. Let me know what you think.

On Mega-Churches vs Small Churches and Dave Ramsey talks about Christians and Money

Driving around downtown Nashville, Tennessee we talk about the role of mega-churches on America’s spirituality. Are they too cold and impersonal? Do they “feed the spirit” as well as small close-knit churches? Baylor University’s Dr. Rodney Stark answers. Plus…a look ahead at this week’s worship video featuring money and finance counselor Dave Ramsey.

This week’s worship video featuring Dave will be ready for download by Friday morning as a video or part of a worship video countdown.

Interview with the Producer of Fireproof

If you’re seeing this post for a second time, I apologize. An attempt at updating the podcast website killed the database.

So…here’s this week’s Podcast for Preachers featuring an interview with the producer of the new movie “Fireproof”.  Produced by Sherwood Baptist Church, the same church staff who brought us “Facing the Giants” last year and “Flywheel” before that, “Fireproof” has one career actor and more special effects than previous efforts.

Here’s this week’s Podcast for Preachers, a preview of the movie and this week’s worship video.
